Ren leant against him as well. It was a comfortably familiar feeling that she often shared with the pack. Wolves couldn't exactly hug. Could be in a shit mood, y'could've been in a shitty fight with 'em all day long, could be penniless and hungry. If there's barriers in the way that'd stop you. They ain't it."
And she reached to ruffle his hair. "Ain't a good life without a coupla heartbreaks in it."
"Aye, I'm sure." She laughed. "All the big heroes from the stories get their hearts broke time and time again." And what else was there to aspire to in life other than being a Big Damn Hero?
